We had a great time at the NWDA schooling show in Iron River, WI. Amy and Sebastian placed first in all of their classes with scores from 67-69% at First Level. On to Second Level for 2013! Brigid brought her longtime partner, Ben for one of their first dressage shows. They have a long history and a wonderful friendship. They showed some lovely tests at Intro Level from 57-61%. I showed Julie's horse, Abigail in one of her first dressage shows at Intro Level. She was a very brave 4 year old, earning many compliments and scores of 63-66%. Another great weekend of perfect weather and good company.

Rhumba and I showed at the CSDEA Fall Festival Championship at Prix St. Georges. The aim was to earn the final score for my USDF Silver Medal. The goal eluded us this time out, so it'll have to wait until 2013! Our partnership is relatively new, and this was our third show together. Overall I'm very happy to say we are wrapping up the season with earning all the remaining scores needed for my USDF Bronze Medal and 3 of the 4 needed for my Silver. Rhumba and I both showed our first Prix St. Georges this year and made a decent FEI debut. I'm looking forward to the season of riding homework, clinics and other winter adventures! Onward!
Leah and Rhumba headed to Kenosha, Wisconsin to Silverwood Farm to make their FEI debut. It was the first time at Prix St. Georges for both horse and rider. Overall it was a successful weekend. The goal was to earn one score toward Leah's USDF Silver Medal. Two scores from two different judges above 60% are needed at both 4th Level and Prix St. Georges to earn the Silver Medal. Riding for the same judge both days (Tom Poulin 'S'), we had the opportunity to earn one score total this weekend. Saturday's test had a few costly mistakes, for a score of 57%. Sunday went much better - a more energetic and expressive test with fewer mistakes for a 64%. It was lucky that the weather cooperated to give us nice cool temperatures! Silverwood is a lovely place to show.
